Rare 3" bear sculpture by done American artist William Lattimer. Lattimer was a graduate of the State University of New York and Florida State University, and taught crafts, jewelry and sculpture in the Department of Art at Florida Atlantic University. He frequently exhibited his works throughout the country winning several awards including the Norton Gallery in West Palm Beach, the Boca Raton Art Guild and numerous others. Better known for his 'Little People' this unique sculpture is a small bear made of lead. From what I understand these were made with rubber molds only able to produce a dozen or so figures before breaking down. It is signed on the base Lattimer as shown and dates circa 1960.
