Once it starts, playback, volume adjustment, fast forward, etc. work without any problems. Sometimes it doesn't start smoothly. (After pressing the start button, it would blink in three colors and then shut down. It usually starts on the second try. After that, it works smoothly.)
The included earphones have some dirt on them (Photos 19, 20).
The Walkman itself seems clean with no noticeable scratches or dirt.
I didn't originally have a charger, and I was playing it with dry cell batteries and nickel-metal hydride batteries. I just recently replaced the nickel-metal hydride batteries with new ones. Please be careful, as the nickel-metal hydride batteries won't play even if the direction is correct if they are inserted backwards.
I was able to listen to music with both the included earphones and regular earphones.
