Extraordinary Color-Changing 7 Carat Flourite!

Flourite is a wonderful, plentiful, inexpensive gemstone. It is found all over the world in a variety of colors including deep blue, vivid purple, amethyst purple, green, yellow, crystal clear, and rainbow (where the colors are banded). Among the color-changing Flourites (not all are), blue-yellow is exceedingly rare, and blue (daylight) - purple (incandescent light) is more commonly seen. In its faceted form, it can resemble a Tanzanite or Sapphire - but because of its softness (it is a 4 on the Mohs scale), it is not suitable for everyday wear where it could get easily scratched.

I think the best setting for this beautiful gemstone is a pendant, where it is not likely to get nicked or bumped or scratched, and still you need to treat it lovingly. This gorgeous stone was mined in Afghanistan, weighs 7.35 carats and measures 15.15 x 10.18 x 7.64 mm. It is a VS clarity and is cut in a fancy pear shape where the table is fully faceted.
